José Cano Andrés (nacido el 21 de febrero de 1959) es un artista visual, músico, compositor y productor discográfico español. De 1982 a 1998, fue miembro y principal compositor del grupo español de pop-rock Mecano. Desde 1998, trabaja principalmente en las artes visuales.

José María Cano nació en Madrid, donde dio sus primeros conciertos como estudiante universitario. Allí conoció a Ana Torroja, que se convertiría en la vocalista de su grupo de pop Mecano. Su primer álbum, también llamado Mecano (1981) y producido con el apoyo financiero de su padre, incluía el éxito "Hoy no me puedo levantar". Tanto José como su hermano Nacho compusieron canciones para todos sus discos.

Tras la separación de Mecano en 1992, compuso una ópera, Luna (ópera),[2] que se grabó con Plácido Domingo en el papel protagonista. En 2002 compuso el himno del Real Madrid, también cantado por Plácido Domingo. En 2006, compuso un "Padre Nuestro" que fue cantado por Montserrat Caballé durante la visita del Papa Benedicto XVI a Valencia. Seis años después, dirigió la orquesta en el último concierto de Caballé en Madrid.
